Where the news comes from
Sector Watch reads hospitality news from five sources through two routes: one daily email briefing, and four trade press RSS feeds.
Only the headline, publication, date and link are stored from the feeds. Article text is never kept. The Propel briefing is read for the names it mentions and the sentence they appear in.
Email briefing
Propel Info Email
- How it arrives
- Propel's daily email briefing, read from the Hospitality News label in Gmail. Propel publishes no news RSS feed, so email is the only route.
- What is kept
- Each named business and person, the sentence that mentions them, the issue it came from, and a link to the company record where one matches.
- Shown in
- The News tab, grouped by issue.
- Site
- propelinfonews.com
Trade press RSS feeds
Fetched weekly. A headline is kept when its text contains an operator's trading name, so each row is a headline tied to one operator. Short trading names can match loosely, and the operator is shown next to each headline so a loose match is easy to spot.
